5 Best Podcasts for Black Girl Self-Care

You should know by now that I’m a bit of a wellness junkie and nothing soothes my soul like an inspirational podcast! I love listening to people talk about overcoming adversity, positive thinking, affirmations, meditation, yoga, and the list goes on.  I like to pretend that we’re all in some fabulous living room fit for Oprah and Gayle, but it’s just me and all of the podcasters and guests laughing, sipping champagne, and talking. Most journeys are made better by the right company, so here are a few podcasts that you can listen to on your journey towards self-love.

She's Beauty and the Beast

Photo Credit: shesbeautyandthebeast.comTracy G of Sway in the Morning has such an upbeat and positive vibe that it's hard not to listen to her words of encouragement. In addition to providing concrete ways to promote self-love and mental wellness, there's always a healthy shot of relatable humor.  This podcast is a great reminder that self-love doesn't have to be super serious all of the time. Have fun with it!

Black Girl in Om Podcast

Photo credit: Blackgirlinom.comThe Black Girl in Om Podcast is like chatting with your two besties over chamomile tea. Tune into Lauren Ash and Zakkiyyah Najeebah for soothing vibes and life-giving inspiration. They always have the most incredible guests on so come prepared to take notes!

The Friendzone

Photo credit: heyfranhey.comIt always feels like a party when you turn on the Friendzone podcast. They're all about helping people achieve better mental hygiene and live their best lives, but they still find time for hilarious (and pretty darn good) freestyling rapping.  Dustin Ross, HeyFranHey and Assante are so open and real about their journeys while still managing to be laugh-out-loud funny!

HeartCheck Podcast

Photo Credit: writelaughdream.com/loveonpurposeAshley Coleman Thomas has filled a unique niche with this podcast which focuses on love and relationships. She explores the importance of being purposeful and intentional with love and poses questions that will make you think about your own personal relationships and hopefully make them stronger! Honestly, there aren't enough open dialogues about love out there, so this podcast is definitely worth a shot!

Happy Black Woman Podcast

Photocredit: Happyblackwoman.comI'm sooo in love with all things Happy Black Woman. I love Rosetta Thurman's blog and affirmations. I follow Happy Black Woman on every social media platform because the content makes me feel so good and this podcast is no different. Every episode covers a different aspect of Black womanhood, self-love, and finding purpose.
